Briefing on crisis comms
In this briefing we will hear from John Orme, senior partner with Porter Novelli and a leading expert on crisis comms. John has worked with many leading companies and NGOs including Plan International and he briefly helped Oxfam when it faced allegations of sexual misconduct by its staff in Haiti. John will talk about the best way to respond in a crisis and how to prepare in advance for negative media stories. He'll advise us on how to review and improve internal systems in order to identify obstacles to a fast and effective response.
Our second speaker is Sean Ryan, Director of Media and Corporate Communications at Save the Children. Sean was involved in leading the media response when senior executives at the charity were accused of sexual misconduct. He will describe what it was like to be at the centre of a media storm and what lessons he has learnt.
